The number and length of reviews you can review from Yelp depend on the size and type of your business.

These clients can view the most recent 200 full-text reviews, updated in real-time, on Yext.

Review Response

Yelp MEC and Yelp Knowledge clients that also have access to Review Response can respond to reviews in the Yext platform. Clients must have a Yelp Business Owner’s account linked to Yext. The Yelp account should use a corporate domain, adhere to these guidelines , and it must have claimed the listings on Yelp.

Errors and Troubleshooting

  • Error message: “Review response failed. The linked account user lacks sufficient permissions to respond to review.”
    • Recommendation: This error is likely caused by the fact that this location was not selected to be included under the linked account set up in Yext. To resolve this, you must unlink and then relink this account. During this process, there should be a drop-down menu right after linking the account that allows you to select the locations you would like to have included under your Yelp account in Yext. Please ensure that all required locations are selected here. If you follow this article, it will be step 5.

Review or Review Response Removal

There is no way to remove review responses through the Yelp API. If a client wants to remove their response, they must do so directly via logging into biz.yelp.com.

Removing an Inappropriate Review

The fastest way to get a review taken down is to flag it on the Yelp listing itself. Raising it to Yext should only be done in emergency situations. However, flagging it on the Yelp listing is still the fastest path to resolution.

For MEC, you can refer to your Yelp AM for additional help in expediting the escalation process.

Restrictions for Exporting Reviews

Due to Yelp policies, we cannot export Yelp reviews from the platform. You can only view full-text Yelp reviews data within the Yext platform. Yelp Reviews are not accessible for the following:

  • In exports from Review Monitoring or Review Response
  • If you attempt to export Yelp reviews from Review Monitoring, they will be omitted from the resulting document.
  • In email sharing or notifications
  • Via API
  • In Reviews App Directory integrations, like Salesforce Service Cloud or Zendesk for Reviews

If there is a need for a one-time export that does not include the content of the review, please reach out to Yext for approval.
