Rich Text (v2) and Markdown Field and Field Type Forking

In our Spring ‘23 Release, we introduced two new field types – Rich Text (v2) and Markdown. With the addition of these new field types, we significantly enhanced the content authoring experience in Yext.

These new fields are also supported in downstream systems, such as Streams, Connectors, Search, Pages, and the Content Delivery API. This allows for these field types to be used in front-end experiences, like Pages and Search.

With this Release, we are now offering in-platform support for users to convert their Legacy Rich Text (v1) field data to one of the two new field types.

How This Impacts You

The in-platform support to convert your fields allows you to seamlessly migrate your fields with minimal work. This makes it easier for you to take advantage of these new field types today. Once you migrate these fields you will be able to leverage the benefits of the new fields, such as support for tables and text highlighting.

Improved Reporting for Saved Filters in Use

This release, we’ve added more granular reporting into how Saved Filters are used throughout the platform, including Pages, Content Endpoints, and Licenses for Listings and Reviews.

Now, when you view Saved Filters in your account, you can see the number of entities currently included in that saved filter, the products that the saved filter is being used by, and when the saved filter was last updated. For Pages, you can see more granular details such as the site name, the deploy ID, and the branch.

How This Impacts You

Not only will this improve general visibility, but with improved reporting, users are better equipped to prevent destructive actions that stem from Saved Filter updates — like taking down web pages or removing entities from search results.

Trigger Field Computations in Bulk

This release, we’ve added support for triggering computations in bulk in our Computed Field Values system.

On the entity search page, users can click More Actions > Trigger Field Computation to trigger a computation for multiple entities at once.

When triggering a computation, you will select an existing field with a computation method configured, and have the ability to adjust the settings, such as whether or not to apply the computation as a suggestion, for this one-time computation.

How This Impacts You

This update will allow you to generate fields values at scale. Previously, users had to click into each entity and manual trigger a computation for a single field on a single entity. Now, users can make these updates in bulk — triggering field-level computations for all entities of a certain types, entities in a saved filter, or any subset of entities they select.

Feature Availability

To enable this feature in your account, navigate to Account Settings > Account Features and select Fall ‘23: Bulk Field Computations (early access).
